The Challenge
Reliable medicine information exists, but it is hard to use. Official drug labels are long regulatory documents, while most consumer health sites mix facts with ads, opinions and unclear sources. People trying to check a dose, a side effect or whether two products contain the same ingredient either wade through dense PDFs or rely on websites they cannot verify.
Our Approach
- Used the U.S. FDA's openFDA Drug Label API as the single source of truth, so every result is the manufacturer's FDA-submitted label.
- Searched across brand name, generic name and active ingredient, so users can start from whatever is printed on the box.
- Organised each label into plain sections (uses, ingredients, dosage, side effects, warnings, interactions, storage) instead of one long document.
- Linked every result back to its original FDA label, and grouped products by active ingredient to surface generic alternatives.
- Kept favorites and history on the device, with no account and no data collection.
